With families bereaved at Hillsborough in the news- it is a good time to ask for donations to INQUEST. An amazing charity that supports grieving families following a death in custody or as a consequence of police interaction. Donations before 9 December are doubled www.inquest.org.uk/big-give-2025

For many learners, studying with PET goes much beyond a qualification to add to their CV: it represents hope, determination and self-worth.

As the prison population continues to increase, our support is more vital than ever. Have your donation doubled today.

Musk: "Absolutely. Got it"

If you haven't read the pre-print on which the Times article is based, I'll link to it below.

I have read it and have two questions for now: why did the authors pick May 2014 as the key date for the start of a 'cutback' of stop and search by the Met, and does it matter?
Stop & search cuts knife crime & saves money. Who knew?

New research from Lawrence Sherman for Journal of Quantitative Criminology studied London data.

There'd be 30 fewer fatal stabbings & £2.5m less health costs per year if stops were at 2008-11 levels:

Rise in stop and search could save the NHS at least £2.5m a year
A return to previous stop-and-search rates targeted at crime hotspots could lead to 30 fewer knife murders each year

You know that test for whether you are human where you click the boxes that have traffic lights in them? Should be replaced by showing people that 20 minutes of Cory Booker's speech as he got to 24 hrs - if you aren't crying, you aren't human

On my way to London for an exciting day of external events talking about Fair Chance recruitment, over-policing of children and #FairChecks. Cancelled trains mean I get to enjoy the lovely sky while I wait. Very fitting that my first post here is moaning about trains! @transformjustice.bsky.social
