NEW: Epstein survivors release the most powerful PSA I have ever seen.

Make this go viral so every member of the House of Representatives sees it.

The idiots either pulled the tariff rates out of their ass or misapplied a formula. Either way they are morons.

Honestly wild that Chrétien can stand and speak for this long, let alone speak well and comfortably command an audience, at 91-years-old.

Longevity goals.

What a headline on CNN: "Republicans push Musk "to let" Congress vote on DOGE cuts".

I did not realize congress had to ask an unelected idiot for permission for anything. Is that in the US Constitution?

What I can't get my head around is that I always believed that Americans are super smart. Look at what they have accomplished. Why then do they elect or appoint the absolute dumbest incompetent people to lead them? Its astonishing. They are in a death spiral of their own making.

Here I react to the shameful behavior of American leaders and media toward the Ukrainian president. No doubt there were more, but I saw five failures on our side: of hospitality, decency, democracy, strategy, and independence. Please watch and share.

Donald is proving men can multitask. He's simultaneously being spokesman for Kremlin AND president Musk.

A good use of Canadian steel is building Canadian pipelines.

@roryjohnston.bsky.social Some years ago I had a small involvement in the Mackenzie Pipeline project. A lot of work was unfulfilled to get that gas south. Maybe the enormous resources should have an export terminal north. Never hear anything about the Delta and its prospects.

@roryjohnston.bsky.social Curious about this OPEC decision to drop EIA as a secondary source. Any thoughts on this? oilprice.com/Energy/Energ....

The Trump EO is designed to make it impossible for Canada, let alone Mexico, to to meet its vague requirements to remove tariffs. This is a malicious attack. The USA is an unworthy and untrustworthy partner. We will all suffer.

Premier Eby gonna use this crisis to expand LNG egress under the noses of the BC lefty eco-nuts. Bravo.

If we start the process of building east/west pipelines now we might just get something built by the time Trump starts his 3rd term.
January 29, 2025 at 11:07 PM
@roryjohnston.bsky.social not sure if you can comment on this, but would there be tariffs applied to oil that is transhipped to foreign customers using existing pipelines to tankers in the GOM? Wasn't some transhipment always part of the business case for KXL? An alternate egress opportunity?

Lots of news today but a real example of the ineptitude of our current CDN government is that 3 weeks into 2025 TurboTax is still unable to provide workable version of their tax software. It is broken not only for capital gains but also RRSP contributions. Used it for decades but now it is broken.
January 21, 2025 at 2:35 AM
@roryjohnston.bsky.social rumor has it that a Poilievre win would end the hold on Equinor's Flemish Path projects off NL. That's believable as the current admins environmental overlay is a non trivial burden. Could be a very big deal for the entire basin. TWT.

Feck it. Started a new long term position on VRN near todays bottom. Divi over 7%.

Interesting. If Trump is trying to recreate the McKinley era of no income tax but tariffs, he also needs to offset the balance sheet with tax changes, right? Doesn't he need Congress to effect those changes? So slapping mega tariffs on trade, while not cutting taxes "hugely" will really self hurt?
