Before you say so: Trump’s hush money prosecution can be in this category. The other ones cannot. In fact, the Georgia and Jan 6 cases were absolutely necessary to defend democracy: you have to punish heavily someone who tries to overturn electoral defeat. The problem there was excessive leniency.

I keep coming back to @adamprz.bsky.social: democracy is a system where parties lose elections. Anything that creates a tilted playing field that makes it hard for the opposition to win: that’s backsliding. Hunter Biden’s pardon is gross, but it’s not that.

That said, you can’t fault Biden entirely: Hunter’s prosecution and conviction were highly political, and the idea that Trump needs any precedent for anything is ridiculous.
