As a survivor of the Tulsa Race Massacre, Viola Ford Fletcher bravely shared her story so that we’d never forget this painful part of our history. Michelle and I are grateful for her lifelong work to advance civil rights, and send our love to her family.

I put my kids in a Montessori program, so I'm not at all surprised by this. But still: reading to them at home, interacting with them as intelligent, self-directing human beings, and showing them the joys of things like cooking or gardening, are more significant.

This is so interesting. Causal evidence that attending Montessori schools before and during kindergarten increases children’s reading ability, short-term memory, executive function, and theory of mind.

‼️ New RCT shows positive effects of public Montessori on kindergarten outcomes. Kids were randomized via lottery at age 3. A fairly racially- and economically-diverse sample because these were public programs.

Another instant classic by @AngelLillard!!!! Check out her new results on Montessori education as cheaper and with better results than traditional preK and K classes. Hmm -- there really is something to this #playfullearning model. www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/...
