Estimated Plus/Minus and Net Rating numbers for the Wolves through 14 games. Of note:

1. Jaylen Clark new leader in net rating.
2. Randle has passed Rudy Gobert in EPM for the first time in his Wolves' tenure.
3. McDaniels is shooting 52.1% on 3's, essentially the league leader for rotation guys.

Saw this floating around Timberwolves Reddit… anything to this @jonkrawczynski.bsky.social ?

There’s my guess at the cost for Morant - only putting it out there since The Athletic mentioned the Wolves “monitoring” the situation.

Matchup numbers for the two primary defenders on Cam Thomas yesterday:

A few standout things:
1. Clark forcing missed shots when Thomas did take them.
2. The number of shots - way less despite Clark being on him more.
3. Team points: When Clark was on Thomas, it gummed up Brooklyn's offense

Following the win over the Hornets, here's the Wolves' top two-man net ratings. That 85.7 defensive rating for Clark/Gobert is incredible and matches the eye-test.

I'll admit; I'm growing more "starter-curious" for one Jaylen Clark, even when Ant returns.

Best way to fix up your perimeter defense

Julius Randle and Naz Reid have a defensive rating of 134.7, the worst on the team out of the main rotation guys (coming into tonight).

Playing those two together is an invitation to the rim - your only hope as a team is to try and keep pace with scoring.

Dillingham wearing a mask tonight while warming up via @jonkrawczynski.bsky.social instagram.

Really hoping he cracks the rotation tonight and stacks some positive plays

The official update from the Wolves mentions a re-evaluation taking place a week from now. Opens the door to his returning sooner than anticipated.

Couldn’t pass up the $20 seats for tonight! Got my youngest with me which means I’ll be spending every TV timeout on the hunt for snacks

Looks like Donte DiVincenzo will be getting the start tonight over Mike Conley.

No Kings.

A lot of talk about playing Conley or Dillingham with Rudy Gobert to have a safety net there, which is right, but I do think that safety net gets even bigger if you put Clark next to them as well.

Clark and Rudy is an elite defensive combo.
October 17, 2025 at 1:52 AM
And just to further this agenda a little more - here are the Wolves top eight 2-man combinations last season for players that played at least 100 minutes together.

It's a small sample size alert, but that 102.7 defensive net rating with Clark and Gobert on the floor is > than OKC #1 defense (106.6)

No Conley or Ant. Excited to see how Dillingham fares right off the bat!

Any improvement in transition intention is what I’ll be watching most closely in the preseason. It’s such low hanging fruit for this team… but also skepticism is warranted as it has been paid lip service in years past.
October 3, 2025 at 2:26 PM
Seems notable to me that Finch is talking about keeping Beringer up with the team and by Gobert.

And at least as training camp starts, finding ways to get him minutes is absolutely on the menu.

Oh man. Memories of going to a KG era playoff game are flooding back - just as excited about this as the jerseys!

These numbers from the @howlsandgrowls.bsky.social video on Dillingham are so interesting. For the non-Ant guards, Dilly had the best FG% (surprising) and the rate at which he’d get into the paint was 2x or 3x higher than any other non-Ant ball-handler.

His development is story “A” this offseason.
June 24, 2025 at 4:03 PM
Game 4 baby. Let’s go ahead and make this a best of 3 series and give the Thunder a lot to think about on that flight back to OKC.
May 27, 2025 at 12:11 AM
It's all such a small sample size (between 4 and 15 minutes total depending on the player), but it really is something that for the playoffs, the top five clutch players in the league by net-rating are Timberwolves when you factor in players that have played in at least 2 MPG.

Also... Naz Reid.

A perfect summation here on the series from @brittrobson.bsky.social
May 6, 2025 at 8:23 PM
20 minutes over 4 games is of course a terribly small sample size, but the Wolves have found their closing lineup (at least for one series).

Versatile/switchable on defense, ability to both space and physically get downhill on offense, and a trust factor that is very high.
