Of course this is actually a good feature that more platforms should have precisely because it exposes grifters, but...

Man, putting a Black Sabbath tape in a Teddy Ruxpin has nothing on this

Are they falling for the scam... or are they pushing the scam?

I would posit some of these pols just want to cut transit funding and are happy to push microtransit as a convenient excuse for doing so. They don't care whether it actually works as a service or not.

It doesn't mean anything. But well neither did "all your base are belong to us" so our generation can't really judge...

I would actually say the "Revenge of The Nerds" comparison is apt. These are absolutely the type of people who would think hiding cameras in sorority bedrooms is cool and funny and a valid way of getting back at people.

But if you win 83% of 40% of the population and 18% of everyone else (the actual numbers per above) then you get 44% and lose.

Voter suppression only makes this worse, but the GOP doesn't need it to win statewide elections in Mississippi.

Also not clear if this would be affected by a SCOTUS ruling against Trump tariffs since it followed a separate formal process that started under Biden and isn't just a Trump whim.

It really really needs to be appreciated that this worked with weed *because the feds voluntarily declined to fight it*. The feds are not going to voluntarily decline to fight tax revenue being denied to them. A law like this will not survive a court challenge, and there will be a court challenge.

It is not a coincidence that this was sponsored by senators from two states (WA and ME) that have legalized dispensaries - they want to shut Delta-8 down because its wide availability outside of their licensed dispensaries is cutting into their tax revenue.

THC defined how though. It may be less than 0.3% Delta-9 specifically but not less than 0.3% when other similar molecules are included in the definition, which this law change would make a problem.

I'm sure they already are. The federal government is just that dysfunctional that it isn't helping. Johnson can't reconvene the house to negotiate without it resulting in a release of the Epstein files, and senate Dems aren't willing to just cave and pass what the house already passed unmodified.
November 9, 2025 at 5:56 PM
The thing is I don't think anyone can if the house isn't in session, sooo
November 8, 2025 at 9:17 PM
The thing is the CR the house passed in September is only through 11/21. So even if that is passed by eliminating the filibuster, it's just rinse repeat on shutdown drama real soon. And then it can't be resolved without the house reconvening.

Also, nitpick, but: even if you rigidly stick with the ±30 minutes of solar noon rule, there IS still one place in the US that is too far east for its time zone: the eastern tip of Maine.
