And now intention grounding to end a series.
The Ravens are giving a fine welcome to the NFL to Shedeur Sanders, whose first drive ended with a strip sack (the fumble was not lost thanks to an alert offensive lineman), and whose second drive ended with an interception.

This is just a sound business model, so presumably Trump will just pardon him again.

NEW: Jeffrey Epstein said in emails that he had been advising the Russian government on how to deal with Donald Trump, one of several cases in which he wielded his connections to try to influence the course of foreign affairs. w @nahaltoosi

Speaking as someone who almost (but not quite) tipped the mirror out of a 1.3 m telescope, “over-rotation” is not a desirable condition for a radio dish nearly (but not quite) big enough to host a football game. Really not ideal. But kudos for the euphemism “Antenna Unplanned Maintenance” status.

Here is the Newsweek magazine article that led to the song "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald," marked up to show key passages that Lightfoot borrowed. Short thread at quoted post. Thanks to @bikeguy.bsky.social for reminding me about this. #EdmundFitzgerald50

Flipped on the Raven-Vikings game as a novelty since I hardly watch the NFL anymore. Near the end of the half, a defender made a beautiful sack, pushing the offensive team out of field goal range. Apparently, according to current rules, it was *too good* of a sack, so a roughing penalty instead.

There’s 5 color-coded checkboxes for too many races to fit in a single screenshot. Conspicuously missing? A checkbox for Republicans. Their best showing is “runoff.” In Texas. Yet the @apnews.com headline depicts yesterday’s election results as a “quiet rebuke” for Trump.

"Science is being destroyed across many agencies" say federal researchers.

For my latest @nature.com piece, I spoke to 19 different scientists across EPA, NOAA, NIH, NASA, and USGS to document how science is being dismantled across US federal agencies.
