Just stop being so reactionary on here
I understand this is probably irrational but I hate Chuck Shumer more than I hate Mike Johnson, and I’ve got a lot of hate in my heart for Mike Johnson.

If this capitulation was ultimately out of fear of losing the filibuster (which is it was) then the democrats are straightforwardly controlled opposition. There is no other reasonable assessment.

Most suburban raised millennials were conditioned since before birth to be non-ideological. There were conservatives and liberals, haves and have nots. Sure we had problems and we weren't perfect, but we could vote, we had freedom, and we had the best "standard of living" in the world.
The thing about Mamdani is that he’s a talented politician but not otherworldly or one in a billion, he’s just a competent guy with popular ideas who ran against an entitled piece of shit and to me it’s a lot more optimistic to imagine 1000 campaigns like his than to view him as a unique phenomenon

Part of the reason we need a party focused on and made up of working class people is because dumb asses like this have never had to STRIKE
Eight senators in the Democratic caucus broke with the party on Sunday to vote with Republicans and advance legislation to end the U.S. government shutdown.

Here's what to know about the 8 lawmakers who broke ranks.
8 Senators Break Ranks With Democrats and Advance G.O.P. Plan to End Shutdown
Two of them are retiring, and none of the others face re-election in 2026.

You’ve never been a fighter, Chuck. Do the country a favor and resign.
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

Maggie Hassan and her husband are both 67 years old and, according to a 1 minute google search, worth about $15,000,000 together.

If Trump is Marie Antoinette, who are these two?
Hassan: My vote was to do two things: 1) Make sure the government is functioning… 2) continue the fight to a realistic platform to get the premium tax cuts done. If that is not successful, then shame on the Republican Party and shame on Donald Trump.

Centrists and moderates, what have you done for America lately?

Reminds me of the white moderates MLK warned about so many years ago.

Just useless.

Kevin it’s not about you dog, go do something else
Canadian multimillionaire and Shark Tank guy Kevin O'Leary went on TV to say he's upset Zohran won't talk to him: "I and others who invest in real estate have tried to get a meeting to figure out what's rhetoric and what's policy. So far for me it's been crickets."

I helped make a film, out this week, called “Rovina’s Choice,” about the deaths this man without conscience or accountability has caused — already 600,000, ⅔ of them children.

The corrupting influences within our politics and institutions are so totally normalized that someone coming along and actively messaging that they will *not* be corrupt has said politicians and institutions completely flabbergasted
Telling the people who voted for you that you are going to pass the policies you ran on is not a "shift" from a "mollifying tone"

If I were president of the socialists I’d institute a snark tax on social media where if you attempt to make a serious argument but you do it with a snarky, rhetorical question, you're fined 5 dollars unless you make your point using an actual argument
