Even if the NDP are mostly powerless right now, they won’t always be. You should have them on side. Unless you’re reserving arrows in your quiver?

Even if you are saying “this is what we’re doing” and you get past this vote, the NDP will have a leader and, depending on the choice, will start taking in donations/building excitement. Poilievre will be through his leadership vote. Their desire to have an election grows over the year.

My problem is: the Cons and the NDP are going to talk about affordability over the next year and that’s going to hurt the Liberals and so why aren’t they reaching out on that? Seems strategically dumb.

Well, I've never been in that building so I have no idea what the damage is inside but that sounds like a bullshit reason (unless the roof was wrecked and there's water damage inside).
