Blame the editors at Texas Tribune who made that post, with that headline. Editors need to acknowledge that a big chunk of people will engage with a story exclusively through an embed card somewhere on social media and ensure that, if that's all the context you get, it's not misleading.

In the most recent lawrence Berkeley lab analysis it is suggested that data centers on net *don't* increase rates on average (that is, states with large load growth saw smaller rate increases or rate decreases).

Implication is this is a federal compromise. Not sure how much that matters when so much of the problem is at township/county level. Unless part of the renewables deregulation is overriding those local siting decisions.

It should not be that hard to just say "yes I'm going to try to get this done. I'm not going to lie to you and say it's a done deal. But we're going to take our best shot at it" about any ambitious policy.
