THE CAT IS BACK OH NO
Things are terrible on the federal level right now, but tbh I'm excited about PDX's new leadership. Challenges, yes, but there are some bright minds and good ideas on City Council.

Neighborhoods like Irvington and Laurelhurst and Eastmoreland want to preserve themselves in amber while the rest of the city absorbs all the new development. Doesn't seem right, does it? Go ahead and write your testimony in support of HB 2138. PNW has great explainers and suggestions.
Oregon law requires demolition review for National Register Districts, which allows small groups of homeowners to unilaterally exempt themselves from allowing new homes in entire neighborhoods- but House Bill 2138 has language that would repeal that requirement.

I just firmly believe the internet needs a corner of weirdos talking to each other, and I have been a little despondent, on a personal and professional basis, that that felt truly lost lately.
