you don’t necessarily want the system creators to actually write the docs. but if the docs are written by people with no connection to the system that who are guided solely by user feedback, you’ve also failed. docs should be written by people hopelessly torn between the two perspectives

If someone from Apple sees this, or you know someone at Apple who works on Logic Pro, please notify them that they should update their MIDI input logic such that

A key on command with a velocity 0 IS a key off command.

I think this knowledge could save lives

The thing about "A.I." in art and writing and health insurance decision making and customer service and government services and a million other things... is that it sucks. And people are very very very tired of stuff that sucks.

even if this turns out to be wildly overstating things, you can _feel_ the hype train slowing down. remember when every week brought some new superlative-defying development? that doesn't happen any more.

previous AI winters didn't have the potential to blow up an entire sector. feels... perilous
Newsletter: We're at peak AI - generative AI models have hit the wall where they won’t improve much further thanks to a lack of training data, killer apps or any kind of sustainable business model.

The results of a collapse could be catastrophic.

Slop is such a great way to define AI. Like, why is my phone trying to TYPE FOR ME to my mother? Let me ponder. Let me inquire. Let me find the right words. Can't stand the onslaught of slop generators in the apps I use everyday. Thinking for oneself is not a problem and doesn't need solving.

Anyone know of some good examples of test harnesses for webapps in for e2e tests? Would also like to get granular too. The way a button is shaped, the api call and back, auth flow, the rendering of response data. Would love someway to make a "story" that's a list of checkboxes for every scenario.
