Added plenty spaces for wildlife. Shallow parts where birds can bathe, stones where insects can drink.

The keystone that holds everything together.

More impressions from the build.

I'd be really curious if the bird just panicked, or if it actually knows how to instrumentalise humans. It's also interesting that the female treats us as potential predators, sounding the alarm whenever we are in the yard, whereas the male doesn't mind us at all.

After the ordeal, a well deserved snack.

climb out. It doesn‘t quite manage, but its efforts allow us to slide a hand into the gutter and pull the chick out.

Impossible to climb out of, and impossible to reach into. I unscrew and carefully pull out the downpipe, but now the chick retreats, at risk of sliding down the gutter pipe. We put in twigs, hoping it will try to climb out, and indeed it moves away from the hole that leads to the abyss and tries

When we come closer, he calms down. Immediately to our right, we hear the chick, but can’t see it. With us so near, shouldn‘t it run away? We keep looking and finally find it. There is a small gap where the downpipe enters the gutter, through which the chick managed to fall.

I think he knows that we unearth worms and that the many cats here don‘t enter the yard when we’re there. But maybe something changed? So I retreat. But instead of continuing to feed the chicks (who left the nest 2 days ago), he flies up and down again.
