The ONLY sense that Trump's power is "unparalleled" is that we have all formed this demented, dangerous consensus that he is not bound by any political, legal, or practical considerations. Our own craven beliefs are giving him power. He doesn't have competence, popularity, or big majorities.

USAID’s website has been deleted, all that is left is a note saying all personnel are now on administrative leave and personnel outside the US are to be brought home. Completely illegal, no act of congress or even executive order was signed to dismantle the agency

The Article I Republicans are getting total free passes from the media while the Republic burns. This is puzzling, since Mike Johnson & John Thune are the two men in Washington most guilty of permitting this constitutional crisis. Why is no one asking them hard questions or demanding action?
Any four Republican Senators could stop this at any time simply by threatening to block all action (or even caucus with the Democrats) if Trump doesn't make certain concessions.

They won't, but that should be a much bigger story than whether the Democrats are doing everything that *they* can.

I’ve enjoyed baking bread for a sandwich of freshly cut pears, melted Brie, and a little salt and pepper.

I nodded off through much of the first half, but exhaustion has kept me from fully enjoying it.

This isn’t surprising as Elon Musk is a SA Boer to the core. Sigh.
As co-head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Elon Musk has targeted individual government employees by name, inciting harassment from his followers.

The performative cruelty of the Trump era returns, with targets ranging from federal workers to marginalized groups.

A friend introduced me to using the larger persimmons when soft, turning them into pulp, and then freezing them to make ice cream. I’ll have it with pomegranate seeds. It’s a wonderful dessert.

After a week of researching companies and working on factoring the beta for my entire portfolio, I’ve been exploring various ways to produce bread I can regularly eat and share with others. There are so many good instructional videos out there for bread making.

I’m pretty impressed with the fermentation process with yeast. I plan on sharing some of the things I learned as I go on this breadmaking journey. I grew up making bread, but I never really appreciated it until now.

I’ve enjoyed the rigor of breadmaking. There’s definitely something enjoyable about the practice and skill development in making bread.
