Wow. What an amazing book. Probably one of the best historical fictions I’ve read in a long time (The Alice Network is up there too). What an incredibly tragic and brave story that needed to be shared. I’m looking forward to reading more of her books.

I think overall I liked this one. I liked his quirky style of writing and found the characters enjoyable. However, I felt like it took way too long to get to the main plot of the book.

Ahh the book that inspired Bram Stoker’s Dracula (but sapphic 🙌). Absolutely loved this classic. Very easy to follow and kept me hooked. “Languid” was used SO much as a descriptor but that’s just my brain picking up patterns lol

I love me a quick and easy read every once in a while, but I LOVE finding books that still make my brain work - to mull over information and find connections and deeper meanings beyond what’s written. Too many new books spoon feed you everything, and I feel like it takes the joy out of reading.
