Had a constructive lesson tonight with my new piano teacher. I’m starting to dip more seriously into Jazz Studies to be able to understand more and see how it improves my performance and songwriting!

I am very happy to see more folks getting into physical media! I kept all the CD’s I collected as a music student and going to so many shows.
There are artists and bands that broke up before the streaming jump, so having these to enjoy brings me comfort!

Working on getting my woodwinds up to snuff to start recording again. I’m finding that being able to add more color and different timbre than just electronics is kind of a thing I need.

I am quite happy with going back to mp3 players. $60 to dump my cd’s into a device that I can expand memory with microSD? Listen to music on the go that never made it to streaming? Not worrying about killing my phone battery during the day? Yes, please, thank you.

Hey. I know I’ve been quiet for a long time. I have been distracted by so many things that I lost my way, but now I’m going to try and get back. Started singing lessons, and trying to form practice habits again.

Getting back to work on music. Working on a commission for a long time friend, and trying to get things started for a new piece.
Just curious, should I really call them “pieces”? “Tracks” feels like it doesn’t really explain things, but I’m open to ideas.

Getting the oddest inspiration today because of a chance listening to a Toto album I didn’t ask to play on my ride into work today. Can never know when a good listen strikes. Seem to be listening to a little more prog rock than I expected.

I think this was a nice little find. I’ve been enjoying mechanical pencils, especially the Kuru Toga Advance from Pilot. This commemorative one sparked joy with me. Castle In The Sky/Laputa was my first Studio Ghibli movie and Jo Hisaishi score.

You’d think I’d wait for when I have music written before trying to write lyrics, yet here I am.
With all the stress and stuff from dealing with getting a car and converting from a contractor to a Full Time Employment position again, I’m real excited to work on music and some new miniatures that I found from “The Silver Bayonet”! Gothic Horror in Napoleonic Era!
