actually Khorne's mightiest champion is a British lad out on the lash with his mate who just got paid his commission from selling ads in a trade magazine

And cocaine gives you strength (temporarily), life (or at least liveliness) (temporarily) and knowledge (of how to really successfully implement this new start up idea, it will definitely make us rich this time I swear bro). Just another common Slaanesh W

I'm not sure to be honest! They seem a popular enough army, but by no means massive. The models are also extremely intricate, so probably a small profit margin even with GW prices. I know for sure I'd cry the entire time if I had to build+paint Glutos. (I guess that would at least please Slaanesh)

It's extra sad because for a while they had someone do absolutely brilliant Slaanesh models for the AoS line. Almost all of the first batch or two of Hedonites models are great, and in a very PG way too! But they seem to have been put back in the strait jacket too now.

Otoh, I think there should be a contempt-adjacent term that allows for moral development. E.g., i may have legit contempt for an SS volunteer, but if he genuinely repents, then I obviously should reassess my contempt. Like I know it makes grammatical sense, but vibes-wise contempt feels permanent.

So shameless and significant that it does mark out both the act and the person as worthy of contempt. My discomfort with the term is mostly that in english (and dutch) there's a finality to it, in the sense that once a person is deserving of contempt the assumption is they will always be.

Otoh, I also think that while awkward, "contempt" is absolutely apt in certain contexts. A big chunk of my job involves me reading about like war crimes and stuff, & I do think there is a certain degree of moral transgression where it's right to feel contempt in response. A flaunting of moral rules

You're not alone in this, and it's imo part of the deterioration of the public sphere the past decade or so that feelings like moralised contempt, moralised hatred etc are not only more common, but also that fewer people feel embarrassed expressing/indulging it. Trump, social media, I blame them all

I know it's not the main point but the fact that the image is of the Odyssey (about a famous beta wifeguy) is hilarious

My Greek & Latin teacher who made us read the Symposium at 15 was either very brave or very stupid

It's always a little awkward when I do outreach & get the question "what's your favourite work of philosophy?". In most senses, it absolutely is Symposium and in large part bc of Alcibiades. I had to invent a different favourite work through, because it's not easy to recommend to 15-16 yr olds lol

"Don't talk to me about sapiosexuality unless you're literally Alcibiades drunkenly serenading Socrates"

Otoh, it is also much easier now (if you have the money) to find high quality/high(er) animal welfare meat. Or, even more importantly, vegetarian and vegan options. Even when I first went full veggie like 10-12 years ago it was a nightmare outside of the big cities. Can't even trust the cheese.

Yeah, in the Netherlands meat now is generally of worse quality than it was in the 80s. A lot a cheaper, yes, but as we've increasingly intensified farming to get closer to US-style factory farms, the predictable had happened. I can absolutely believe though that in the US things have gotten better!

I'm actually pretty sure I read in some official source (book? Codex?) that human tallow candles are a thing. But perhaps that was specifically a Chaos thing (which is most of the official media I consume). Wouldn't be at all surprised if the sororitas had heretic candles too, though
