Gareth Southgate, "Young men are suffering"

"They're feeling isolated"

"They're grappling with their masculinity and with their broader place in society"

"The culture we create today will shape the kind of men that we inherit tomorrow"

Whenever you welcome guests, treat them with kindness, grace and respect. Simple as that.

BBC news report on the state of the NHS. I do wish people would stop referring to a “winter crisis”. This is a perennial crisis - the sooner we accept this, the sooner we can start coming up with long term strategies rather than sticking plaster approaches to “survive the winter”

These stats are frankly bonkers. If anybody is complaining about why they are waiting to see a GP. They need to ask why successive governments have not supported the same growth in GP numbers as it has hospital medic numbers.

Agree @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social or just going to sit & watch the end

PM of Qatar, "When we talk about peace in general, peace won't happen unless there is a Palestinian state"

"To address the root cause of the issue and not just the symptoms of the issue"

"By the way, the framework we signed two days ago, is the same framework we agreed on in December 2023"

With every passing day the NHS comes closer to resembling my student placement in Ghana, 20 years ago:
- patients dying in corridors waiting to be seen
- dangerous staff:patient ratios
- huge waiting lists
- poor staff pay and morale

The normalisation of failure is so sad to see 🙁
If only this from the Sunday Times were new - the truth is even worse: that trusts have been advertising for “corridor nurses” for years. A horrendous illustration of how overwhelmed our hospitals are every year, all year. This isn’t “flu” - it’s flu + lack of beds + failure to address social care 🧵

My thoughts on how the proposed NHS reforms, to be announced by @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social will affect those of us working in Primary Care
TLDR: our workload is about to get even larger - hooray 🤦🏾‍♂️

Happy New Year! Looking to start 2025 in the same manner as I ended 2024 - getting fitter (physically and mentally), and integrating health tech into my day to day practice…kicking off the year with (at least) 30 minutes of cardio exercise over the next 30 days. I wanna get back to 7-a-side!!
