Looks like it’s the right time for me to switch to octopus Go - but will be interested to see what happens with prices over next few weeks if (as being predicted) weather stays windy and a bit milder…

I’m getting solar panels and battery installed in 4 weeks time - given that we don’t need to charge our EV car this week (wife uses for work but is overseas), assume it’s worth just riding it out for next few days (as opposed to switching to Go)?

Also doesn’t mention what happens during the 6-8 months whilst she is waiting for her CT scan…but maybe the errand she had to run in the shopping centre could also wait for that long 🙃

As with all recent reforms - unless the funding and resources are to follow, these plans are simply tinkering at the edges, and will only serve to increase Primary Care’s workloads - the recent funding announcement barely covers the NI contribution increases. Happy New Year indeed!! #MedSky #NHS

How are they going to screen these referrals?
Who will be responsible for actioning the results?
If a scan is clear do a patients symptoms go away?
What do we do when waiting times for scans are 6+ months - oh yes, back to advice and guidance

Quote from the article: “Diagnostic tests could be booked at specialist centres with the results coming through more quickly.”

This should be the STANDARD, not a new concept!! Leading me on to the final main reform - increasing direct access to diagnostic tests for Primary Care…

2. Increasing use of the Advice and Guidance - meaning increased specialty ping-pong. Recent example - asked dietitians for advice on possible food intolerance. Told to contact immunology as it could be allergy. Who said contact derm. Who said contact gastro. And they want to expand this service?!

1. Allowing patients to view/book hospital appointments via the NHS app. You could argue this is similar to the Right to Choose system which many patients are using for ADHD referrals. And who do they contact to complain when they find out the waiting times at ALL providers are at least 6 months?
