In Bovino's upside down world, there is no difference between an armed gang member preying on others in his community and a guy working 12 hours a day washing cars, flipping burgers, or installing sheetrock to feed his family — and he wants you to hate and fear both men equally.
Bovino: "Whether they were criminals or individuals that were taking jobs from Americans -- you name it, that's what they were doing. And I'll tell you what's gonna happen. We're gonna go even harder on the streets. If he releases those 650, we're gonna apprehend 1,650 on the streets of Chicago."

This is why we’re seeing cracks. Their bullshit propaganda blaming democrats isn’t working. By large margins.
New WaPo/ABC poll:

45% of Americans blame Trump and congressional Republicans for the shutdown. 33% blame Democrats.

By a 2-to-1 margin, Independents blame Trump and Republicans over Democrats: 46% to 23%.

Dozens of photographs of uniformed immigration agents shot by Chicago Sun-Times photojournalists in four separate locations since the court order show how the feds have fallen short. trib.al/XP5Wq9T
IDs are mismatched, illegible or still missing 3 weeks after judge’s order to immigration officers
In dozens of photographs at four locations, Chicago Sun-Times photojournalists documented federal officers failing to wear the “visible identification” needed to hold individuals accountable during the ongoing immigration “blitz.”

DOGE is like a shell game. Musk's collection of young technofascists claims the power of a government agency, but claims it's not an agency. Trump says Musk runs DOGE: but the DOJ says it's being run by a person in Tennessee.
Yet DOGE might not be able to hide records of what it's actually doing.
New in PN: Turns out DOGE can't beat FOIA by shouting NOT AN AGENCY

"Perhaps more importantly, the rulings that DOGE *is* an agency may provide a handle for outside litigants and Congress to grab hold of it before it succeeds in decimating the entire federal government. Let the FOIA cases begin!"

About the presidency, Harry Truman famously said “the buck stops here.” Trump is trying to pass the buck and blame everybody but his administration for the DC plane crash. This is a time for consoling the families and investigating the cause of this tragedy, not shameful finger pointing.

When asked how he can blame diversity for the plane crash with zero evidence, Trump says it's because he has "common sense."

It’s apparently so obvious in his mind that a white person couldn’t have been responsible that even with no proof whatsoever, it’s "common sense" that a minority is to blame.

Since it looks like the answer to the below is “yes,” my question is: Do Republicans not fly? Or get cancer? Or get VA benefits? I am just not seeing how some of the things he is doing don’t end up affecting them too. Though I guess COVID shows that that logic doesn’t matter
So I guess we’re pro plane crashes and pro cancer now?

The Hegseth hearing is doing one thing incredibly well: it’s establishing that when his leadership at DoD fails, it’ll be clear that GOP Senators knew, excused it, and they own it. Serious concerns about experience & judgment are literally being laughed off.
