Incredible capture of Spork doing Speed Retrieve a couple weeks ago. Incredible play of reflection and refraction--the reflection water dripping off his chin...you can even see his two little chin whiskers and their reflection!

I've started offering beginning dock diving lessons at the pool I practice at, and Wednesday I had back-to-back Winstons during the Golden hour and then a pair of Westies, one of whom actually kind of liked the game and the other of whom was pretty unsure about the situation.

Drought conditions have been tough for the marshmallow farmers, but with all the rain we've been getting this year, the farmer across the road has already gotten his second harvest of marshmallows and will be able to put away a third harvest by fall.

Went out for birthday brunch with my best gal at Bistro 112 in Shepherdstown & then a little shoppy shoppy on German Street. We picked the same entree & she's been getting into fancy bar soap & if you'd told me 10 years ago that she'd turn into her own mother like that I would not have believed you

Spork smashed his speed retrieve personal best by 1.2 secondss, won 1st place overall in both Extreme Vertical and the Iron Dog three-discipline event, and we won more prize credits than we spent in registrations. Harper did some nice practice jumps and had one round of speed retrieve. A good event!

9 weeks post-op on her 2nd TPLO (13 weeks after first one) and the Semiaquatic Shenandoah Lumber Spaniel is back in action doing what she loves best!

She's doing great. She had her post-op x-rays (8 weeks after the 2nd surgery) on Friday and the bone is fully healed and so she is free to do stairs and start being more active and off-leash. We had a celebratory "jump into the truck" and did some ground throws with her new frisbee when we got home.

Harper's starting to look like her old self again. 8 week post-op x-rays next week and then hopefully she'll have the green light to start easing back into full activity. Right now we're doing about 75 minutes of leash walking a day, which is harder for me than for her.
