The world is burning, but here is Tulip when she was just a tiny flower, because the world is hard, and we all need soft things 🌷

She bites fascists and when pushed will take a bite out of a centrist Dem or two

I was feeling really down this afternoon, so I took my dog to the pet supply store and gave her a sudsy bath, and now she’s so soft and woolly and smells so good that I think I might make it to the start of the week.

I taught Nathan Hill’s Wellness today, or at least a chunk of it, and it went surprisingly well. Such a great novel, although I like The Nix better overall.

I just found a folder on my hd with about three thousand images of seamen’s protection certificates, proofs of citizenship, and crew manifests that I took in 2019 and never once looked at until today. Life, and then COVID, intervened, and I forgot. It’s like finding $3000 behind my sofa cushions! 🗃️

If you’re a cat, it’s always summer somewhere; if a dog, you can at least keep a few paws warm. There’s probably a life lesson in there, somewhere.

We are at our neighborhood burger stand, so this is, quite literally, Tulip’s “i can haz cheezburgr?” face. And, of course, she can; or at least, a tiny nibble of one. 🍔🐕‍🦺

In 1830, Joseph Williams, a Spaniard incarcerated in Massachusetts State Prison was discovered to have been stealing other convicts' drained blood from the prison hospital, then drinking+vomiting it back up to feign illness & avoid work. Cans of blood in near 'putrefaction' were found in his cell 🗃️
