But it turns out that isn’t true: MPs and the press together can rend, kill and destroy anyone and anything they want, just by all agreeing to do it. But they can’t build anything that anyone wants that lasts more than five minutes, and that’s why governments keep collapsing to hated enemy status.

However there is a huge confluence between its news and political broadcasting, and the undue influence the very much Tory leaning of the political outpost skews the news output.
On occasion, the BBC reports without bias, but it’s hardly ever.

It was anti-LGBTQ+ in the early 90s via QT and recently qt started that up again on twitter so I’d be ok with the bbc ending, no bigoted organisation is ok, they rejected stonewall and lie pride is political too, they keep siding with bigots, maitlis admitted to being transphobic and anti-LGBTQ+

In the last decade, the BBC has legitimised climate change denialism, paved the way for Brexit, defended the coup that was prorogation, over-platformed Farage's Far Right projects, and is neutral on our abandonment of human rights norms.
What is this 'good' it supposedly does?

I think the combination of the dominance by the BBC of news, together with the levels of trust it enjoys, gives it a degree of influence which is unhealthy for it and for democracy. And it uses them to perpetuate a status quo-ism which is demonstrably failing the nation.

I’ll place a crisp £50 on him having used Grok to come up with that.

I used to be in it for Clive, but now I’m in it just hear Paul veer off wildly.
