I watched a guy making espresso spin the tamp, and I quietly had a meltdown. Like, nobody told him not to do that. Stylized Internet production videos aren’t a great place to learn anything but bad habits. Does it look cool? Sure, for a guest that loves terrible coffee. Not to me though.

If you don’t know your equipment, or haven’t been properly trained in the various brewing methods then it doesn’t really matter how good your roast is, the end result might not be that great. And that’s ultimately what I see with a lot of revenue modeled coffee chains.

I’ve been really disappointed with how poorly many aspects have been addressed in the media. It’s insane to me that we’re even entertaining the past few weeks as “the new normal”. No we shouldn’t have to find ways to adapt without necessary social systems.

This is a fun topic because the rise of Canadian comedians in the 70’s and 80’s came with a *SIGNIFICANT* financial incentive for US film companies. Back then the Canadian government would literally give out millions of dollars to hire Canadian actors, effectively funding low budget productions.

An absolute masterclass in Body-horror. The ending was a perfect blend of shocking and hilarious. Honestly the most unsettling film I’ve seen in a very long time. I hope the academy can finally shake their stigma of the horror genre. So many cinematic advancements come from the genre.
