We’re getting reports of longer than anticipated lines at several polling stations across the city. It took me about 30 mins to vote this morning just after polls opened.

Elections Calgary increased the number of election day polling stations by 40% this year to 261.

In a late release this afternoon @youralberta.bsky.social says #Albertans who are not on social services or have underlying health conditions will be required to pay out of pocket if they choose to receive a #Covid-19 booster this fall. More below. #ABPoli #yyc #yeg www.alberta.ca/release.cfm?...

Albertans have good reason to be angry: their real wages are down 10%, their minimum wage is frozen, their inflation is worst in Canada, their health care's at risk. None of that was caused by the rest of Canada. My take in today's @TorontoStar: www.thestar.com/business/opi.... #cdnecon

Not sure how many #elections I've #voted in now. But my first was federally in 2006, and I've only missed two since then because I was a resident for less than 6 months at the time of the election in the province I was living in. Anyways, do the thing. Got #vote! It's easy!

In case you haven't checked your investments lately. Just don't.
The S&P 500 has lost 10.5% of its value in two days.

Since 1980, we've only seen larger declines three other times: the '87 crash, Nov 2008, and Mar 2020. And those weren't due to policy choices.

This may be the largest self-imposed destruction of wealth ever.

I spent months (and thousands of The Narwhal's dollars) digging into who actually owns the many small companies which the Alberta Energy Regulator says aren't paying their orphan well levies or minimum cleanup quotas. Some of the names might surprise you. #ableg thenarwhal.ca/alberta-oilp...
