Actually, it is if we are trying to encourage each other to be thoughtful, emotionally intelligent people. The point of my post was more to underscore how there’s a tendency for people to take these matters personally when they don’t need to.

Right. There is just a baseline assumption that that’s what we are always after. And that might actually be what most guys are looking for honestly, but that doesn’t mean that’s what everyone is wanting.

And I feel I shouldn’t have to be like, “it is raining, I am mildly depressed, and my fuzzy dog is sleepy.” To me, my choice seemed obvious. Am I crazy? (Yes, I am. But my logic is sound nonetheless.)
