The locomotives and diesel-hydraulic railcars on the Pikes Peak Cog Railway in Colorado, USA are Swiss-built. Third photo resembles them a bit.

Came in a bit too late for this one, but by chance that put me in the perfect spot for the handoff near Keota.

Occasionally saw the CP units that were used for filming after they'd been painted back, but left with the "tiger stripe" plows. Of course I blew my only good opportunity to get one leading.

Some of the best of tonight. Black Earth, WI. Google Pixel 9 Pro. Wanted to do a timelapse with the DSLR, but I got out there and found its battery was dead.

Photos from chasing a Wisconsin and Southern grain train 10 years ago OTD along the scenic Prairie du Chien Subdivision. One of my favorite chases ever with both locomotives in special paint schemes, beautiful fall colors and late afternoon golden light!

My first attempt at northern lights photography, one year ago OTD. Nowhere near as spectacular as what many people got, but it was nice to get out and see them.

The maroon and gold livery on the 37250 reminds me of that used by the Wisconsin Central LTD. Unfortunately it was bought out by Canadian National in 2001 so by the time I took up rail photography in 2007 the few left in service were faded and tattered.
