My take: a lot of visual media's first scene is a establishing shot so writers unconsciously copy this & write their first line describing the landscape, the sky, etc I'm guilty of this too & need to shed it to utilize the first sentence to its full potential as a hook

The more I think about it, the more my space western needs to be remake from the molecular level. I love writing it, but there so much needs careful planning. The world building leaves much to be desired. The characterization needs more focus. And the plot is so jumbled rn

Rewrote my Singing Garden short story, where a woman's garden grows strangely as she becomes more desperate to pay off her debs. It definitely felt more coherent now haha. Hopeful to edit this one next week and then into a beta-reader's hand.
