Anyone else have a problem with the pitch selection to Rojas? If you have to throw a strike to the #9 hitter it has to be a fastball or you have no business as the Closer on a WS team.

Welp, we’re finding out why starting extra innings with a runner on second base is good for the game.

One thing I have always liked about Kevin Gausman is he throws every pitch like it’s the most important one in the game.

Does anyone else think Blake Snell might have hit Varsho on purpose?

If there’s no Tony Vitello announcement today you have to start seriously wondering if we have another Arson Judge/Carlos Correa situation at Willie Mays Plaza.

It should be obvious to anyone watching the MLB postseason the Giants one and only priority this offseason has to be pitching, pitching, pitching.

Holy hundos! This kid Misiorowski rolled out of bed throwing 103-104!

Frank Linzy RHP had a helluva rookie season in 1965 for the Giants. 57 Appearances, all in relief. 9 Wins. 3 Losses. 21 Saves. 81.2 Innings. 1.44 ERA. He was #13 in MVP voting(Willie Mays was MVP) and #3 in ROY.

My friend asked who I think is the best Closet in Giants history. Off the top of my head I said for one season, Brian Wilson in 2010. Robb Nen and Rod Beck are the top two leaders in career Saves.

The way the Giants lost yesterday exposed them as more likely pretenders than contenders. I don’t expect them to run the table for September but when they have make up ground in the standings, they cannot lose like that.

What do you do as a hitter when you’re down 0-2 in the count and you get a 100 mph fastball on the outside corner at the knees? You do what Christian Koss just did and drive it into right field corner for a double.

I saw the open player revolt that got Gabe Kapler fired and last year’s collapse that got Farhan Zaidi fired. This is the most moribund Giants team in my recent memory.

As a lefthanded batter, facing Mackenzie Gore is tough assignment for Young Drew Gilbert.

I don’t think Jung Hoo Lee wants to collide with Jerar Encarnacion in the outfield.

Giants have 10 hits in the game so far and Heliot Ramos is the only player in the lineup with more than one.
August 6, 2025 at 12:41 AM
If the Giants believe in Jerar enough to send Luis Matos out to AAA, he needs to be in the lineup every game ROS.

Christian Koss obviously worked his butt off to improve his hitting and now might be the toughest out on the team.

Giants prospect Jean Carlos Sio hit for the cycle last evening vs Inland Empire 66’ers. Sio is quietly having a good season with a batting line of .299/.385/.408, 14 2B, 3 3B, 4 HR, 13SB, 38 BB, 44 K, 336 PA. Sio is 21 yo. Per Fangraphs has 2 more seasons before Rule 5 eligible.

Historically the Giants have had the most success in the MLB Amateur Draft with the demographic generally considered the riskiest: high school pitching. Examples include Matt Cain, Madison Bumgarner, Logan Webb and Kyle Harrison.

That was pathetic!

Brett Wisely picked off base two games in a row. That was a killer! Ugh!

I went through some old blog posts from 2010. I forgot that Barry Zito went 5-0 with a 1.49 ERA in his first 6 starts. He finished the season 9-14 with a 4.15 ERA and was infamously left off the postseason roster. Giant probably don’t make the postseason without his early season contribution.

Giants 2024 first round draft pick, James Tibbs III, is 12 for 30 with 2 doubles, a triple and 4 home runs over his last 8 games. Overall, his BA of .241 comes with a .379 OBP and a .460 SLG%.
