Something has to give on the fringes of the Giants outfield situation. The acquisitions of Dean and Wiemer appear to mark the end of the road for Luis Matos and Marco Luciano journeys through the Giants farm system. Certainly not the result Giants prospect watching community hoped for.

I hope they agree to terms with all three and avoid the arbitration process.

Giants should try to sign Brubaker to a lower number. If not, no-tender. Knizner no. Bailey yes. Walker? Ugh! A grudging yes. Lucchesi? Try to sign but no-tender. Predict none get to a hearing.

Greg Minton was very good in the 1980’s. Gary Lavelle and Randy Moffitt were co-closers in the 1970’s. The first Giants closer I remember was Frank Linzy. That was before closers became a thing. There were a lot more complete games so fewer Save Opportunities.
