Well I WAS gonna suggest "The Forever Winter" but everyone beat me to it!
Truthfully it might not have as much of the "puzzlebox" element you're wanting, it IS more "navigating the chaos of war as a spectator," but I will say the devs are solid and worth supporting at least!

My wife introduced me to this game. The humor hasn't aged well, but it's surprisingly more skill based than I'd have ever thought. For the life of me, we can't find the artist behind the designs and I wish we could! (And Pilot X is the best racing villian ever)
