What will the future of the warming stripes be?

2024 could be the start of a stabilisation of global temperatures, or it might appear to be a cool year.

Which one of these stories becomes reality depends on our choices today, and every day until then.

We are likely to regret not acting sooner.

So, we have the global temperatures for the whole of 2024.

It was the warmest year on record (1850-2024) across six widely used datasets: HadCRUT5, Berkeley Earth, GISTEMP, NOAAGlobalTemp, ERA5 and JRA-3Q.

Nice raised beach deposits (~+4 m OD) of possible MIS7 or 5e age, with #periglacial head and windblown sands at #Godrevy #Quaternary #Kernow

There’s a nice sand-blow story for someone to reconstruct down here if not done already. Medieval field systems upslope …

My first post on this platform so thought I’d share some treasures from a recent trip to the Early-Mid Pleistocene ‘Contorted Drift’ in N Norfolk: chalk rafts, glacitectonite and thrusts galore!
