Reading historical documents and understanding WHY they're the way the are, asking questions, forming your own opinion on what you read, on what you listen to, and what your local politicians say are critical skills we cannot afford to give up or not care about.

It was just presented as an obligation and normally watered-down retelling of certain historical moments. The education system failed me and I failed to look into it more and care until I saw the effects of not knowing the importance of understanding history and critically analyzing it.

I've been reading (hi, hello world, I am a master of disappearing) American Government 101 with US Constitution 101 queued behind.
In school, history was always, "because, because." I didn't get into the necessity or meaningfulness of it because it was never presented that way for me.

I no longer identify as Christian, but it still does anger me after the years of study, receiving sacraments, and literally tending to the church I did for years to see people STILL not get it.

Y'all gave up that quick? I thought you "received downloads" so often from source. Spirituality is a land of profit to y'all. It was never about enlightenment. And the evangelizing you're all doing isn't coming from the heart. Just a new cash grab while the masses scramble for solutions. Sickening.
