Anarchist, leftist, tired.
If that snake could eat its own tail, it'd never leave the house.
If you want to get the attention of an American audience, make sure your intro has the words "THEY don't want you to know about" in it. Who 'they' are is definitively unimportant. We're motivated to learn out of a sense of defiance. It makes conspiracies popular, it makes disproving them popular too

A big thing shaped by class is one's relationship to space. The poor constantly share space, the rich have room to be alone in silence. We've made distance a luxury and privacy a privilege. The thoughts possible only in quiet moments, only for the minds with the resources to show they deserve it.

AI is a new tool for old tricks. There was a music producer from the 60s named Don Kirchner. He helped create the initial commercial success of The Monkees using the talents of great songwriters, studio musicians and professionally attractive actors. He scraped data to create a profitable product.

Revenge can be a little satisfying, if you have to accept a structural inability to escape them. But, it's got nothing on the level of satisfaction in a moment of content, secure, giddy joy that is only possible in the total absence of them and their influence.

Fav thing about Halloween costumes: creative ways people incorporate mobility devices and limb differences into a costume.
Least fav: the ever increasing number of costumes I don't get because I don't get the reference, reminding me that my proximity to death is closer than to youth culture

Thanks to social media, I've learned that I can be both emotionally moved by and mentally engaged with the death of a crab and a mantis shrimp. While their lack of basic humanity was undeniable, so was the joy they brought to people by being true to their nature. They had a positive impact.

Okay, I've deleted my earlier post. Apparently, this is *not* a pipe. But the fact that I thought it was says a lot about society.

Conservatives fear cities. This is true to a degree that's hard to understand. The reason a lot of right-wing talking points work is the pervasive and very deep fear of cities. The impact this fear has had on our national psyche is just above the satanic panic and just below the red scare.

"White people" are not a real thing. White is not real thing to claim to be. There's no scientific, medical or factual basis for the label. It is corrosive snake oil. It is a dangerous and violent delusion. There are no 'good white people' for the same reason there are no benevolent dragons.

One day, I'll be met with news of the death. I'll find a private space to deeply exhale, to let the relief and sense of freedom sink into my bones. It'll be like a warm bath; and just as contained. In the world's will to punish me for not being wrent in strained, agonizing grief, they'll live on.

My theory on the general z stare is that it is a result of the one thing that marks their lived experience as unique in lived memory. They live in a panopticon. Any moment of not predictable action in public is an implied wish for virality. Every stranger, an eager lens for a surveillance culture.

In youthful ignorance, being the bully's hype man seems safe. Powerful even, if your view doesn't extend beyond the crowds that form around the scraps. You grow to become married to it all. It carries over the threshold. Then you find yourself alone, just you 2, in a house where you're never safe.

The instant you begin to engage in a debate on any subject or statement, you're putting energy into normalizing the idea that it's a debatable idea.
I'll never debate human rights, the value of human decency, or other facts.
You shouldn't either. You're not "owning" anyone you're training them.

Starvation hasn't been a result of natural conditions since ancient times. Starvation is a very old, very established tactic that is perpetuated by disingenuously discussing it as a naturalized phenomenon. No one in the modern world happens to go hungry, from Gaza to your town's food pantry.

The only tragedy in the death of Hulk Hogan is that the Iron Sheik isn't here to see it.
Jabroni is honestly THE nicest thing anyone can call him.

Every single preventable death is political, as a different set of resource allocation policies would have completely changed the situation. Every single preventable death is the result of political power and political will being exercised.
Every. Single. One.

In America at least, the two basic ways to view the constructs of society are
1) a series of rules/norms that directs all behaviors towards the most benefit and least harm, or
2) a series of consequences and penalties put in place by whomever has power to enforce them.
Both are always true.

Ableism teaches us to abandon each other.

Racism will disable you.
Transphobia will disable you.
Long COVID will disable you.
Genocide will disable you.
Climate change will disable you.

Do not obey when told to abandon the vulnerable.

Resistance & communities must be rooted in disability justice.

America's main manufacted (and exported) good is the visual construction of success. Now that the trade war has laid bare the HUGE disconnect between the prices and actual value, will it change the way we interact with those brand name signifiers?

Security theater (things like fake cameras) works. The real deliverable is a SENSE of security. But, a place where people feel safe generally is safer than one where people need to actively provide their own defense. Political theater works like that too. Theater, like most forms of art, works.

This creator has me transfixed. Case by case, showing why our foods don't taste as good as we remember. I'm reflecting on capitalism's drive towards everything slowly becoming of lesser quality. The flavors slowly being dulled, the textures gradually less appealing.
Disclaimer. As always, everything is alleged. I did find inconsistencies in the mid 90’s Doritos packaging and was able to determine the exact timeframe in which the swap between Romano and cheddar to...

In Seattle, it's a perfect, warm, sunny day... with a massive storm threat warning.
When you're bummed out, you wanna a rainy day. To stay on theme. Today's weather feels appropriately thematic. The sky is gorgeous. The phone is full of ominous warnings for the evening.
