It seems we are emerging from the part in the Emperor's New Clothes where no one dares say what has been before our eyes for quite some time. The fucker's naked and everyone involved in this regime of the bullies for the billionaires is a equal parts evil and incompetent.

These are not detainments—they are kidnappings.

These are not deportations—they are human trafficking.

These are not detention centers—they are concentration camps.

Language matters.

This is fascism.

You are not worried enough about this
Before press came in — but while live feed was running on Bukele’s feed — Trump said to him: “home-growns are next. … You’re gonna need to build about 5 more places.”

i have argued before that MAGA is recapitulating antebellum pro-slavery ideas about citizenship and bodily autonomy. one thing i am also thinking about, when it comes to the rendition of people to a foreign gulag, is the way it is reminiscent of the kidnapping of free blacks for sale into slavery

A boundary-spanning policy regime, if you will
You may be fearing your 401k is no longer enough for you to retire. But with all the cuts to NIH and Medicare you also won't live as long. So the policies are integrated.

I can't wait until they total the estimated number of people who showed up all across the US! We need 11 million to stage a general strike. We could get there long before anyone imagined! @generalstrikeus.bsky.social

We need 3.5% of the American population to strike. If we go on strike without this, people will struggle even more. We hear you about signing up - it’s scary right now.

But if you’re someone who is adamantly against the use of the strike card, we still want to hear from you…

The message is: crowd large.

Many politicians, administrators, and business leaders, in bowing to Trump, have drawn confidence and comfort from the perceived vibe shift.

Events like this puncture that delusion.
You can stop asking where the mass opposition is. It's everywhere.
People poured out to protest not only what Trump has done—and what they fear he will do next.
