My solution was to thrown some herpes on it (trust me it works). Using fluorescent reporter expressing HSV-1, we observed inoculating dose dependent infection. Surprisingly, we saw faster onset of fluorescence and increasing frequency of productive replication. And with cool movies. 3/4

It also led to a cool movie of dual-labeled virions entering cells. check out the paper for others.
