Yeah I don't mind it compared to some of their other tacked-on singles but The Sound of Drums is the highlight for me on that EP

S&S: 1995 is a very good movie but aging Elinor up really changes the story
P&P: 1995 ✓
Mansfield: 1983 is the only adaptation that doesn't hate Fanny Price
Emma: 2009 ✓
Northanger: Haven't watched the 2007 yet. 1987 looks great but is nuts
Persuasion: 1995 ✓

Something in the water in 1995

A lot of this bait has been passed around long enough that we should now be getting second-order posts like "I asked my students what the save icon was and they guessed that it was a picture of the picture people used to post about not knowing what it was"

Yeah, the youngest sisters are great too, and while I'm at it I love Bingley. It's really amazing how they nailed the casting

Yeah Mrs Bennet was really doing it for me this time around, her line readings are out of control

I understand and accept that people will keep adapting books forever but the 95 P&P is perfect and anyone who has what it takes to do a great Austen adaptation should try to lock in the canonical Mansfield Park instead. (1983 one is fine but looks like an 80s BBC miniseries)

This is why I'm reading about the turbine car... unbelievably jealous. The one thing I regret about EVs is the end of the Weird Gas Engine Idea—CNG, rotary, turbine, etc

Yeah honestly the university library by myself and 24-hour food places with my friends are the two places I definitely wish I had spent more time

My mom bought Nancy two of the Creative Tonies that you can put anything on through their website and I could not figure out what to do with them until I tried throwing old-time radio on

I've sometimes wondered how I would ever be compensated for my kids' total lack of interest in sports and I think this must be it

Also she instantly recognized "You're a hard man, McGee!" as a catchphrase and hit me with it out of nowhere in a Great Gildersleeve voice. Insane

Turned out she had basically memorized one character's dialogue and could mouth it in time with the recording. She just had Lindsay and me pantomime the McGees' reactions to Teeny (her role). Tremendously proud.

She has ideas like that all the time, like all six-year-olds and their parents, so I didn't think too much of it. But then I picked her up from school this afternoon and she still wanted to do it. She can't read and we can't act so I wasn't sure how this was going to play out.
