A new species discovered in 2014, it is 1 of 5 species that have suction cups on their thumbs & hind feet, helping them cling onto leaves. They can also be identified by the tricolour hairs on its underbelly

Arizona is home to 5 species of free-tailed bats (family Molossidae) and we currently have 4 in care. They definitely look related but when they are all together you can really see their differences. They are all very mellow, gentle, and social bats. 🦇

i don't mean to single out baseball fans here, because you see this in lots of fan communities, but in certain corners people talk as though baseball is real. they think all the players are real people and the stadiums are places you can actually visit. to each their own, but that cannot be healthy

🦇 Bats are rumored to sleep the whole day but we usually find the little ones jostling and grooming in their kiddo clump at any time of day. They must catch many little naps in-between shenanigans.
