I have been actively supporting my constituents affected by the termination of CMutual's Family Protection Plan.

Given that thousands of elderly and vulnerable people across the UK are set to be impacted by this, I requested an urgent investigation and debate on this issue.

At the Scottish Affairs Committee meeting on recent STV proposals to cut news jobs in the north east, I questioned STV bosses on their failure to collaborate with unions in their request for collective consultation in order to reduce potential job losses & mitigate consequences.

At the debate on statutory maternity & paternity pay, I highlighted that the UK Labour Government's review of parental leave should include a significant rise in pay to at least to the national living wage & new dads should have minimum 6 weeks of leave at full pay.

Scotland has the highest drug death figures in Europe. This year’s figures show another increase.

At the Scottish Affairs Committee report, I highlighted that the Thistle is one part of the solution but not instead of recovery services for those in need of life saving help.

The Prime Minister confirmed to me today that he raised the case of my constituent, Jagtar Singh Johal, arbitrarily detained in India for 8 years now, during his meeting with Prime Minister Modi in India.

It's time he is released immediately & returned home to his family in Dumbarton.
