Politics geek who loves polls, football outside the top level and most importantly Grimsby Town FC! UTM
I can't remember the last time I was this happy about a football result that didn't involve Grimsby or England. Thrilled for Palace!

What would public choose on social care workers coming to Britain?

Increase the numbers: 44% (18% a lot, 26% a little)
Maintain current levels: 27%
Reduce the numbers: 22% (11% reduce a lot, 11% a little)

I get immigration is an issue of concern, but this such a stupid move. My wife is being made redundant from her care job because there is not enough staff to provide the overnight care needed. She will get another job but those who she supports are struggling!

I get America is a super power we need to work with. But we need to stop relying on them for anything as soon as possible. They twice voted for this arrogant fool. We need to accept that they are unreliable partners and and we need to treat them as such.

Trump really is a stunningly bad negotiater. I am very British and prone to just accepting what the other person says, but even I would gently push back on some of Russia's demands.

I am not sure I will ever understand how Republicans can be so happy to follow Trump as he sides with dictators and America's enemies.

Went to a Waitrose today and there was tractor with farmers protesting the tax changes.....hate to be stereotypical and overly cynical but for some reason I have never seen them when doing my normal shop at Aldi.

Got to admit loved reading this. Only makes me sad I don't get to Blundell Park more often these days.

Was hoping to travel to Swindon tomorrow partly to enjoy some therapitic shouting at Runaway. Sadly daughter with Chickenpox means I will miss out. #GTFC

This article just fails at the most basic way to check of if sacking managers works. It doesn't even cover the counter factual of cases where clubs stick with managers and their survival success rate. It's daft but that really bugs me. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/footba...

Really interesting that I am getting lots of follows on here from Town fans. On the other place I got a few follows today from bots who couldn't find Grimsby using Google. It's obvious why people are leaving really.

So I fully expected to wake up to Trump victory, Americans are really weird in that way. What worries me is not that, but that as we import more and more of our culture and politics from the states that we will follow a similar path in the future. Not in the next 5 years maybe but gradually.

I don't really use Facebook but have been conducting a mini-experiment to see how easily Conspiracy materials are promoted. It hasn't taken long for my timeline to be inundated with Andrew Tate videos, memes a out 9/11 being an inside job and flat earth stuff. It is remarkable.

Nice to see that in general the public are united at seeing the riots for what they are.
Firstly, most Briton's see the events as riots rather than as protests, overall 74% say they are riots 14% protests and 4% something else. Reform voters are the most likely to describe them as protests (34%).

So I think Mail has been pretty awful generally. But I find it noticeable it is aligned with the rioters being far-right thugs. The attempt to portray them as representing any kind of legitimate concern has been disgraceful.
