I've been reading Gwynne Dyer's book Intervention Earth, and wondering what will happen as global temperatures pass +1.5C and quickly reach +2C and then +3C, possibly within a decade. Does anyone know anyone who has done a socio-political analysis of this?

Sadly, millions and millions are being forced to take the #climatecrisis seriously
Hard as it may be to hear, climate communicators must adapt to the fact that a significant number of people only take climate change seriously when they experience it for themselves.
Another paper showing climate shocks lead to support for climate action among conservatives. Analyzing data collected in Florida, the paper finds Republican positions change after personally experiencing loss from climate-exacerbated extreme events.

FortisBC wants to expand its Tilbury LNG plant along a fragile part of the Fraser River, in Delta, British Columbia.

If we don’t intervene, this project could have devastating impacts on nearby communities, critical habitat for marine life, and our climate.

The left is right. The right is wrong.
A few hours in and already heard two journos saying that “climate change was rejected as a top issue in Germany”. Making this inference based on the single fact that the Greens lost some of their share is lazy at best.

With the world's focus on crumbling geopolitics, (in)security, extremism and evil wars, it is understandable that climate change has fallen down the agenda.

But to be clear: we cannot adapt our way out of all the impacts so we still need to everything possible to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Nothing matters except profit. The truth was sacrificed decades ago. In its place we have the marketing of snake oil such as carbon capture.
