. @diedrichbader.bsky.social but much like The Wire treats its next generation it's about how they don't play by the old rules. A modern version of Network would probably make it a same-sex relationship in which the younger person exploits homophobic content to get ahead

. @diedrichbader.bsky.social so my reading of the relationship was about the ruthlessness of the next generation. Think the sexual politics of the time necessitates it to be an older man/younger woman but in the modern context it can come over as implicitly misogynistic which makes it feel off.

.@kimkelly.bsky.social the phenomenon you're referring to are generally called "convenience stores" and they've basically always existed! Local "greengrocers" of our youth morphed into chain convenience stores which also expanded (McColls, Spar, Dillons every region had a prominent brand)

Young men don't open bank accounts. They are too expensive. They download coin base or Robinhood app and buy crypto. That's their savings

@marina-purkiss.bsky.social just been served up an LBC appearance you made with a Tory MP on farmers inheritance tax. You really need to look up the "taper". Very few farmers should be paying even the 20% if they're genuinely getting a successor to inherit the farming business.
