The maths is a bit messy. Wind apparently generated 85TWh in 2025 with 10TWh curtailed. So seems like we paid £1.5bn to miss out on selling nearly £6bn more. So about £7.5bn cost of not upgrading the grid?

The taper has always existed... if these are legitimate businesses being passed to inheritors who will continue them then why are they not being passed on outside the taper and or reduce it to five years with exceptions for unexpected death (e.g. before 60yo)
