The frost came last week. I’ve left these up so far because o keep seeing the birds land on the stems and pull out the seeds.

One lone snapdragon has decided this is its moment to shine and suddenly started blooming.

#Yallfest has been so fun. The verse novel panel this afternoon was just as great as I’d been hoping.

Last year this was such a wonderful retreat. And I’m so grateful for the Kay Yoder Scholarship for History that allowed me to go to the @highlightsfound.bsky.social Novel-in-Verse retreat. Highly recommend! #KidLit

First Friday Open Mike poetry with Poet’s Live is one of my favorite monthly events. And someone even caught a photo of me reading last night!

The leaves are just beautiful. And a woodpecker is testing our front porch for a snack. 😄

Fieldtrip to the farm this morning. My daughter loved the corn bin. 😄

This was such a fascinating read. And felt heartbreakingly relevant to today. It’s based on the true story of a desegregation case in the 1930s in Lemon Grove. #MG #VerseNovel #KidLit

My flowers are continuing to bloom. And we’re enjoying some especially lovely dahlias now.

And this section under the Activities tab has a bunch of great resources like timers and help for anxiety or rage, and breathing exercises. I love it!

Here’s mine right now! I’ve saved up for all the furniture and wallpaper and such by completing my goals each day. You can see I have one to go today still!

The zinnias seem to be winding down for the season. But you should see how the birds are enjoying the garden this week. So many feathered visitors.

There’s something about water droplets on flower heads that makes my heart feel full.

The cut flower garden is still going strong. In fact the dahlias seem to be coming into their own!

Enjoying every one of these blossoms! Isn’t that pink and yellow one cool? It makes me think of pink lemonade.

What an honor to read at the debut for Red Hawk Press’s HAD I A DOVE poetry anthology launch.

A friend and I drove up to Boone, NC on the anniversary weekend of Helene to share alongside other poets.

She did this when she was 8 to save for a bunny. She remembered and asked if I would share with my writing friends again for this.

I’m pleased she’s developing skills with reading and communicating what works in pages for her. And I’m glad to see her taking initiative to make her dreams happen.

And lastly, Fighting Words. I feel really strongly this should be where kids can read it. It approaches sexual abuse by an adult in a very very child appropriate way. Helping kids understand without going into graphic detail. It’s just extremely well done in my opinion.
