Our goal is to reduce the timeline for projects like this from years to months, and create more options for property owners to build a wide variety of housing types so all of our neighbors have an affordable place to live.

This was a comprehensive reform that also simplified our zoning.

By that I mean no step backs, no dwelling unit per lot area, no FAR, no special permits (under 75k sqft), no parking mins…

While other reforms have limited it to 4-8 units, we’re really trying to build housing!

Rather than go smaller, we decided to go bigger in a way that would result in thousands of both market rate units and affordable units.

Our high affordability requirements only penciled at 6 stories and that was our baseline.
