ML and AI at Dune
Python is going to die as the language of data science and machine learning if it doesn’t adopt mandatory typing. Typed languages are inherently better for coding with LLMs and we are all using LLMs to code. Typescript is going to eat Pythons lunch and you should stop developing for it.

Things I see for the future:
Crypto (finally) has a real-world global use case. AIs can use tools with MCP. Many of these tools will be loosely wrapped API calls. These MCPs can't manage thousands of API keys so there will be a payment layer on top that handles it.

The head of our country’s government is in the early stages of consolidating total power. We must of course reject this, but that is not enough. We have to respond by creating a different and better kind of American politics than we have seen before.

I’m from a lot of places as a military brat but New Orleans and San Francisco are my favorite ones and this movie is set in both

If I were a Dem, I’d be holding a press conference rn about how Trump is thinking about giving people in Greenland $10k a year at the same time he’s inflicting a 145% tariff tax on Americans who buy goods from China.
I missed this yesterday. Trump is considering offering all 57,000 Greenland residents a stipend of 10 grand a year to join the United States. That would cost the US $570 million a year. (Gift link 🎁)

I got off the train at USQ and there was a guy sleeping in an emergency blanket and a “out of business” banner right next to a guy clearly installing a skimmer into a @wellsfargobank.bsky.social ATM yesterday in broad daylight 😳

solana was built on rust, a language that famously has several prominent trans and non binary contributors and maintainers. absolutely clownish behavior to make and release that ad.

They started with the undocumented, then they went after visa holders and permanent residents, now it's naturalized citizens.

How many times must history rhyme and repeat before we realize what's going on?

I've been looking for an excuse to make some recipes from this Martha Stewart cookbook and I found it by inviting my friends over to write postcards to elected officials about how angry we are at the attacks on our public lands.

Entertaining & Agitating.

The @dangoldmanforny.bsky.social Office told me I had been redistricted out his district when I hadn’t when I called to ask what he was doing about the EOs. Gonna remember that next time I vote and talk to my neighbors about our representation.

Trump’s EO about sending water from the NorCal CA DWR reservoirs to the SoCal ones and making a point about people over fish is an example of something that sounds right but is in fact stupid if you take 10s to look at evidence or talk to anyone.

I personally found lab work to be boring af so its interesting that we are inventing ways with reinforcement learning to scale the work to further fundamental knowledge without chaining some of our most ambitious scientists to benches to pipette for years.
