Corkless heathen.
Fantastic! Very pleased to hear it.

Jumbo and OK are the two Leeds essentials. (And then Bundobust for a bit of food on the way back)

Enjoy!

This reminds me of when a group of us went to Dublin on St Patrick’s Day and watched the fireworks on a television in the pub rather than the indignity of turning our heads 90 degrees to look outside.

I think they’re very likely to be on consignment. I’d be surprised if they weren’t.

That’s true! I think it’s amazing they are still here. They’ve done a phenomenal job all things considered.

Perhaps but I’ve seen a few people fretting about how this will impact HMV (or FP, for instance) and I just can’t get my head around it being significant. Ten years ago maybe. Maybe I’m wrong?

I’m puzzled by this. I can’t imagine Funko are huge sellers. They’re just handy in that they take up a lot of space in too-big units.

I think the fact that this “scandal” didn’t even register for me until the weekend has been the oddest part - usually, it’s easy to see what the right are frothing about as there’s enough people pointing it out, but this one seemed a nonsense until it wasn’t (in terms of the resignations)

I’ve got the top two. Bit flaky with fulfilling the orders but got there in the end!

Oh those Jon Savage comps are fantastic. I’m just a bit sad that they stretched the timeframes now we’re in the 80s and 90s. Individual years, yes please!

Great comp(s). Maybe my favourite label?

Because they have fucking big units and need to fill them with stuff. I refuse to believe anyone really buys funko stuff in any amount. It’ll all be on consignment too.

This hits home massively. Such a lovely, important thing.

My old man was in a home, and had dementia at the end. During those last hours with him, on my watch, I put on Floyd for him hoping it would help and he kind of came round slightly, just enough to play air guitar.

Yeah. You edit out the shit, don’t you?

My subconscious has been reliving my music shop days quite a lot lately. Not sure what that means but still.

I miss it like mad. I remember helping people find music to play at a funeral and genuinely feeling pride at being able to do it.

“My dad loved this song but I never knew what it was called”.

I think they’ve done an incredible job - opening shops again? Fopp still going? Amazing.

I helped open a chain in 2008(?) and I remember staff crying because “they never thought they’d work in a new record shop again” and that was way back then!

There was an interview with a therapist who had super rich clients, who advised on Succession. He basically said “imagine doubting the intentions of every single person you ever meet”.
