Me, too! Like, so many intelligent, interesting, vibrant women, with a myriad of talents and gifts and hobbies and careers, who could literally be talking about anything and everything else, yet, actively choose to reduce interactions to this. It makes me sad for them, honestly. 🤔

PS I have three much older sisters and a mom who constantly comment(ed) on my body, whether to objectify, infantilize, shame, whatever. The intense scrutiny, criticism, and judgment are instantly exhausting. Most of the women in my extended family are body critical/shamers. It’s so gross.

For your mom, in particular, it is mind boggling that she can even look at you and not just be so happy that you have survived illnesses that have killed so many and just be grateful that you are still here and recover(ed/ing) enough to even be planning a future. Good Lord.
