I've used timeout a lot of times. Usually when I do things like "loop curl until success but not forever" I just add a timeout so I don't have to do bash math to increment a counter or whatever x3

@anthropy (Even though in the use-case of a backup script, I'd usually suggest systemd timers with a timeout value, that way you don't have to manage concurrency or PID files or whatever x3)

@anthropy It was also great for people screw hardcore with the recognition algorithm. You know where they draw an entire image and the game just goes "that's right. It's clearly a 42"
