I'm still using Feedly, so I'm also interested in this topic. It's fine (paid), but just that. I like that it makes decent decisions about what to surface for me out of my subscriptions.

In some ways the debate around sampling seems archaic in a world of generative AI, but it also was an indicator of all that was to come b/c the argument always get framed in terms of “fairness” but legislated in favor of the powerful.

This is probably why no 4X since SMAC has grabbed me the same way, even though I play and enjoy quite a few - they invariably don't have anything to say, and are studiously ignorant of the ethics of the various expansionary policies the players must implement to win.
